It was a goal galore at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano when the home side, Kano Pillars defeated IfeanyiUbah Fc 3-0 in a rescheduled Match Day 11 of the abridged Nigerian Professional Football League on Wednesday.

Striker Nwagua Nyima gave the home side a great start when he opened scoring in the 3rd minute following a sublime assist from Yaro Bature

The Masu Gida who looked fired up tore apart their visiting Anambra Warriors with several chances at goal from the blast of the whistle.

Nwagua was a menace in the hands of the opposition who were having a hard time containing him.

In the 26th minute, Bature almost went from hero to zero as he almost scored an own goal while attempting to clear the ball which hit the woodwork.

In the 35th minute, IfeanyiUbah had a rare chance at goal when Ugwuka flicked Chidi Madu’s pass with his head however, Pillars keeper Idrissu Ibrahim made an easy catch.

At the restart of the second half, Pillars ensured that they extinguished FCIU hopes of scoring an equalizer when Nwagua in the 62nd minute rounded the goalkeeper to score his brace.

Matters became worse for the away side when a penalty was awarded to Pillars after Jimoh Gbadamosi handled a goal-bound move in the box. Rabiu Ali stepped up to ensure all three points for the 4-time Nigeria League champions.

In Makurdi, Lobi Stars were unable to build on their recent win as they were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Niger Tornadoes in a rescheduled Match Day 12.

Tornadoes stunned the home side when Jibrin Mustapha scored in the 8th minute.

The goal seemed to have spurred the visiting side as they rattled their hosts but were unable to take their scoring chances.

However, just before the first half ended, Lobi Stars were given a lifeline as Yaya Kone who had replaced Mbah Ezekiel scored from the spot to make it 1-1.

In the 81st minute, Niger Tornadoes silenced Lobi fans as they restored their lead through Goyi Mohammed who jumped above his marker to head home off Olayinka Yusuf’s cross.

In a never-say-die-spirit, Michael Stephen saved Lobi blushes by tucking in the equalizer in a goal mouth rush in the added minutes of extra time to make it 2-2.

At the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Remo Stars held visiting Enugu Rangers to a 0-0 draw.

Remo who are battling relegation threw everything in their arsenal to win the game but all efforts were fruitless as Rangers held their ground for a draw though not favourable in their quest for honours.
