Arsenal defeated Chelsea with a three goal margin on Friday to extend their lead at the top of  the Under-18 Premier League table.

Folarin Balogun, Nigerian teenage striker who recently signed his professional contract with Arsenal, gave Arsenal the lead, 26 minutes into the game.

Tyreece John-Jules put Arsenal in a comfortable lead in the 48th minute, while Greenwood’s goal in the 58th minute sealed the young Gunners’ victory in Hertfordshire.

Meanwhile, Liverpool Under-18s booked themselves an Anfield showdown against Watford in the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup with a classy 5-1 demolition of Bury.

It was the perfect start to a massive week for Barry Lewtas’ talented side as they dominated from start to finish in torrential rain at Gigg Lane.

Captain Paul Glatzel struck twice to take his tally for the season to 26 goals and fellow frontman Bobby Duncan is just one behind him after completing the scoring late on.

Glatzel and Jake Cain both struck in the first half before Glatzel’s header extended their lead early in the second half.

Joe Adams pulled one back for Bury but Liverpool finished strongly with Rhys Williams and Duncan also on target.

The young Reds remain on course for the club’s first FA Youth Cup triumph since 2007 as they challenge for glory on three fronts.
