Nigerian referees are honest, not corrupt – Udoh

Following the perceived corrupt antecedents of some Nigerian referees, a FIFA badged referee Anietie Ferdinand Udoh has denied such notion.

Udoh, during an interview session on Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece (NSM), rated Nigeria referees high, insisting they are honest and morally upright in discharging their duties on the field.

Ferdinand who has officiated in CAF competitions believed that if Nigerian referees are corrupt, CAF hammer would have fell on them last year when many referees were suspended by the African football governing body over corrupt practices.

“They are not corrupt. Ana’s video simply explains it better. How many Nigerian refs did Anas indict?

“None. CAF banned so many referees last year and none was from Nigeria,” he said.

Ferdinand sustained Achilles tendon injury which kept him out of action for more than 9 months but hoped to undergo surgery soon.

“Last 9months, Achilles tendon injury has kept me out and Doctors who handle the injury in Aba got it complicated… Making plans to undergo surgery”
