Rangers trump Enyimba in Oriental Derby as Plateau hold Pillars

Enugu Rangers edged past Enyimba 1-0 in the ‘Oriental Derby’, while there were away wins for FC Ifeanyiubah and Sunshine Stars in Week 5 of the abridged Nigeria Professional Football League.

The ‘Oriental Derby’ between Enugu Rangers and Enyimba ended 1-o in favour of the Flying Antelopes.

Ajani Ibrahim’s 40th minute goal was enough to separate both regional rivals in the game played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium

In Kaduna, newly promoted Kada City were no match for FC Ifeanyiubah who won by a lone goal.

Chibuike Eze’s 56th minute goal saw the Anambra Warriors emerging victorious taking all the three points on offer at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Sunshine Stars who were away stopped home team Wikki Tourists by a lone goal scored by Chibundu Amah in the 80th minute in Bauchi.

Lobi Stars wiped Kwara United 3-0 courtesy of a brace by Yaya Kone, while Michael Stephen scored the other goal.

It was a shame in Osogbo which is a temporary home ground of Remo Stars as the pitch was nothing to write home about. However the banished team defeated visiting Katsina United 2-0

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United downed the Olukoya Boys, MFM FC by 1-0 as Abia Warriors, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United were held at home.

However, Go Round FC will receive El Kanemi Warriors while Nasarawa United battle Akwa United in Lafia.

Following these results, MFM FC lead Group A with 6 points after playing 4 matches closely followed by Remo Stars who are 5 points after three games.

In Group B, Ifeanyi Ubah top the league table with 11 points garnered from 5 games while Heartland are on 9 points from 5 games also.
