The 2-time Federation Cup winner now known as AITEO Cup in Maiduguri condemned the four-time Premier League champion to their first defeat of the abridged season.

El-Kanemi’s Bello Musa Kofarmata opened scoring in the 20th minute with a low strike which was beyond the reach of Pillars’ goal keeper, Danladi Isah.

The goal injected life into the away team but for some heroics of Warriors’ keeper, Itodo Akor.

However, at the tail end of the first half, the Masu Gida equalized through Rabiu Ali who manoeuvred his way past Babatunde Solomon and Innocent Gabriel after superb assist from Nyima Nwagua.

At the restart of the second half, Warriors took the game to their famous opponents but their efforts were constantly been thwarted by Danladi.

However, in the 71st minute, Pillars poor defending let down Danladi who was again breached as Abdulrazak Aliyu headed El-Kanemi back in the lead off a Sunday Anthony corner.

Again. Pillars began to pile pressure but were unlucky to score another goal with Itodo again coming to the rescue.
