Ighalo’s Chinese sojourn ends, mulls over EPL return

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo is bidding to make a return to the English Premier League during this January transfer window.

According to SkySports News, the former Watford forward has attracted suitors in the EPL and he is said to be keen on making a return two years after he moved to the Chinese Super League.

Following Changchun Yatai’s relegation from the Chinese Super League last year, Ighalo is keen on playing topflight football and the EPL seems to be his preferred destination.

Ighalo scored 36 goals in 55 games for Chanchung Yatai, hitting double digits in goals for the fourth straight season in 2018 and saw his stock rise after he was nominated for the African Player of the Year.

He is also the leading marksman in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers. The report claims that the Nigeria international is expected to be in England this week to discuss his future with the clubs.
