Golden Eagles know foes as U17 AFCON draws holds tomorrow

Confederation of African Football, CAF has announced that the draws for the U17 African Nations Cup, Tanzania 2019 will take place on Thursday 20th, December in Dar Es Salam.

The draws are scheduled to hold at the Mlimani City Conference Centre by 9:00 pm.

The eight African U17 qualifying teams will be grouped into two.

The qualified eight teams are; the hosts, Tanzania, Angola, Cameroon, Guinea, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Uganda.

The four semifinalists will automatically qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru 2019.

Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets will tomorrow know their first round opponents in the 2019 U17 AFCON when the draw is staged.

The five-time world champions qualified for the final proper after they topped West B Zone by edging past rivals Ghana on penalties.

This will be their ninth appearance in this competition and they are expected to be seeded.

Hosts Tanzania will be seeded and will head Group A, while defending champions Mali failed to qualify.

The 2019 U17 AFCON will be played between April 14 and 28.

The top four teams will represent Africa at the 2019 U17 FIFA World Cup in Peru in October.
