The Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Bukar Goni Lawal has slammed the male footballers, administrators, officials of poor performance despite getting more money than other sports.

Speaking during the Pre Scientific Congress on National Sports Festival in Abuja on Monday, the lawmaker said that the male football is full of crisis.

“I heard what the sports minister has said. We are spending more on male football but they are not performing, its only crisis,” he said.

He also revealed that in line with the demands of the Sports minister, Solomon Dalung, the parliament will give more money to female football.

“Since the budget is just around the corner we are going to work to see that we give more money to the women than men this time around,” he noted.

Similarly, Dalung said he there is need to support women football as they had outperformed the men.

“The message the women have passed is that men should park and give them space. Women are good managers.  We must look at the direction of giving the women more responsibilities. It is high time we put more investment where we are getting results”, he declared.
