Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed why he can’t recall Efe Ambrose back into the team.
According to him, Ambrose is tooold to be invited to the Super Eagles, The SportsBay reports.
The Franco-German tactician added that he is building a young but experience team and according to him, Efe Ambrose does not belong to the class.
Rohr on Monday made this disclosure during an interaction with the presenter of Nigerian league programme on DSTV in Lagos.
It will be recalled that Rohr had earlier admitted that the player was a valuable option, but stated that he has five quality defenders in his team who have been playing well.“He’s a good player and we are monitoring him.
“At the moment, we have five good defenders who are doing well in the team and he will only get his chance when one loses his form,” the German said.
Efe Ambrose has been consistent since he joined Scotland Premier league team, Hibernian in February 2017. Efe, 30, won the Scottish Championship player of the month award for March 2017, a month after he finalised his two years contract at the club. He has made 47 appearances and scored two goals
Ambrose won his first senior national team cap in 2008, made 51 appearances and scored four goals for Super Eagles.
