2018 FCT Women League kicks-off today

The 2018 FCT Women’s league will today resume hostilities with four teams vying for honours.

The teams are Blessed Unity Angels of Area 10; Emmanuel Queens of Gwagwalada; Josiah Queens of Area 3 and Beautiful Tours Angels of Durumi.

According to a statement released by the  FCT FA Acting Secretary, Haruna Usman Ilerika, the league fixtures which is scheduled to be played in a round-robin format has Blessed Unity play the league opener against Josiah Queens on Monday by 2:45 pm at the Area 3 Play Ground.

The second game on the Match-day 1 will see Emmanuel Queens come up against Beautiful Tours Angels by 4:00 pm.

However, Tuesday will be match free day due to the public holiday declared by the federal government.

After the break, Beautiful Tours Angels will meet Blessed Unity Angels by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, while Josiah Queens take on Emmanuel Queens by 4:00 pm,in their second group games.

On Friday, Josiah Queens will face Beautiful Tours Angels by 9:00 am while Emmanuel Queens Vs Blessed Unity Angels is scheduled for 10:30 am at the Area 3 Play Ground for their last group game.

The team with the highest points will represent FCT in the Amateur Women League next year.

FCT FA supports all the participating teams with kits which was presented to them on Friday.

Meanwhile, the owner of Blessing Tours FC, Mrs Agape Klamer has challenged the FCT administration to upgrade sporting facilities within the city.

She stated this in Abuja during the Beautiful Tours Football Club First Grassroots Football Enhancement Tournament held at the National Stadium.

According to her, “we will like the government to help us develop the facilities in the six Area Councils. We want the government to give us incentives. The money may not be huge. The government should help us train administrators to help discover new talents.”
