Former Director General of National Sports Commission, Dr. Amos Adamu is confident that the Super Eagles will defeat Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Saturday.

Adamu who spoke with reporters at the Indoor Sports Hall of National stadium Abuja insisted that the  Eagles will defeat South Africa despite their 2-0 loss at home to Bafana Bafana in the Match-day 1 of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.

“South Africa can not be a threat to Nigeria in football, the record is there to show. We are not mate in the game.

“Though, we lost 2-0 at home in the first leg, it do happen in football but that doesn’t give them the upper hand to win the match despite playing at home.” Adamu said,

Super Eagles are on top of Group E table with 9 points in 4 matches while South Africa are second with four points in the same number of matches.

Similarly, Adamu has revealed that lack of sponsorship culture in Nigerian private companies is one of the reasons responsible for the sports federations inability to secure a laudable sponsorship deal.

Adamu advised that the federations should also be transparent on how the sponsorship funds are being spent.

He admitted that high level of secrecy federations surrounding sponsorship details discouraged private sector.

Recently, many sports federations have to go extra mile in ensuring that they seal sponsorship deals while others raised fund among board to run the Federations.
