As part of measures to develop and promote Auto Sports in the country, the Federal Capital Territory Chairman, Mr Adekola Olamilekan has said that the sport will enhance discipline among youths.
Speaking with The SportsBay Olamilekan said that the sport will empower the youths on the safety measures of driving if properly harnessed and developed in the country.
“The mission is to empower youths in motor sports because there is more to motor sports than racing because Nigeria have a motor sports culture especially in the northern part of the country we like our cars to be fast,” he said.
“They are some people that their own form of entertainment is auto sports and not football or any other sports so we intend to bring the sports to every auto sports enthusiast. “
He further revealed that Nigeria auto sports is recognized globally adding that the association is working hard to organize competitions at the grassroots level while stating that every Nigerian has motor sports culture embedded in him or her.
“The association is four years old which was registered in 2014, we are embarking on grassroots development programs for the sports which Nigeria is recognized international by the body who are responsible for the development of the sports”.
“We do not have what is required to go into motor sports proper but we are starting soon because we have some plans and we are seriously working on it and also the safety measures of the sports” he concluded
