Nigerian Professional Football League side, Abia Warriors FC has declared one of its players, Abiodun Adebayo AWOL( Absent Without Official Leave) following a management decision taken in Umuahia.

According to a statement issued by the club, the defender has not been seen in Umuahia two weeks after the team resumed training following a three-week break.

The management bemoaned that the former Niger Tornadoes of Minna centre half absented himself without any excuse or permission describing this as unprofessional.

“Abia Warriors frown at such an unprofessional attitude”, the statement said.

The statement directed him to return to Umuahia immediately or face drastic action.

Abia Warriors reminded any club fraternising with the player that he is still under a valid contract with the club, adding that keeping him elsewhere without any formal discussion runs counter to the rules governing professional football.
