The Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby has expressed his confidence of leading the team to glory during next month’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Speaking to www.thesportsbay.com, the Swedish football coach stated that his team will not underestimate any of their opponents while following their plans for the tournament.
“I think we have a good chance to come to the semi-finals. And if we perform well, we also have a good chance to go all the way. But we have to follow our plan and not underestimate any of our opponents, he said.
He also said the camping exercise where he had invited a total of 29 home –based and 19 foreign –based professionals is going on well with no problems.
Eight-time champions, Nigeria will be looking to defend their title against Kenya, South Africa and Zambia in Group B.
The Super Falcons will open their campaign on 18 November in Cape Coast before tackling Zambia at the same venue three days later.
Nigeria will complete their group phase matches with their clash with Kenya on 24 November.
The top two sides in the groups will progress to the semi-finals.
This year’s competition, to be held in the West African country for the first time, also serves as the African qualifiers to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The top three teams will qualify for the World Cup to be held in France in June next year.
