Kano Pillars to play Enugu Rangers at AITEO Cup finals

Kano Pillars have reached the finals of the AITEO cup after defeating Katsina United 4-1 on penalties after the semi-final match ended 2-2 at regulation time

The match played at the Agege Soccer Temple in Lagos started in a frenzy which saw the first half ending 1-0 in favour of Pillars when top scorer Junior Lokosa forced an own goal.

The second half continued in a similar as Nzube Anaezemba doubled the lead for Kano Pillars who were coasting to victory.

However, Katsina had other ideas as Timothy Danladi converted a rebounded a penalty saved by the keeper in the 69th minute to pull one back for the club.

Chinedu Ajanah equalised for Katsina United in the 79th with a textbook header off a clever corner kick by Joshua to send the game into penalty shootout after the 90 minutes.

Following this victory, The Masu Gida will contest the final match in Asaba with Enugu Rangers who had defeated Nasarawa United 4-2 in the other semi-final match.

The AITEO Cup final will take place at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on 24th October, 2018.
