Andy Murray Takes Tomas Berdych To The Cleaners To Make Miami Final
Andy Murray beat Tomas Berdych in straight sets to make the final of the Miami Masters with a devastating performance.
Murray broke early in the first set and never looked back, cruising throughout the match as he won 6-4 6-4 to make the final for the fourth time in Miami.
Eighth seed Berdych pushed hard in the final game as Murray served it out, getting it to 0-30 and having a chance to prolong the encounter.
But the Scot dug out a succession of big serves that left the Czech no chance – a perfect encapsulation of a match in which Murray found the target with 70 per cent of his first serves.
Murray will face either Novak Djokovic or John Isner in the final, the world number one taking on the American later on Friday in the second semi-final.

“I did most things well today to be honest, there’s not a lot I can complain about,” said Murray.

“I think I served well on big points, and when I was behind I got a lot of free points on my first serves…
“He’s obviously a very powerful guy and tough to beat.”
Murray was asked for his thoughts if, as expected, he meets Djokovic in the final – particularly given the beatings that Djokovic has dished out to Murray already this season.
And the Scot suggested that his form and tactics are at a much higher level than they have been going into his previous encounters against the Serb.
“I’ll definitely try to be aggressive on second serve, that’s something that I’ve done well this week,” he said.

“And then hopefully play a cleaner match from the beginning and see what happens. I’ve played better this week than I did at Indian Wells.”
