Nigeria’s sole representative in the #CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba of Aba lost their semifinal first leg at home to Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
The first half ended goalless despite constant pressure from the People’s Elephant but were unable to put the ball in the net with the chance they had.
The first half saw the Moroccans dominating possession at 57% against Enyimba’s 47%. The away side also had 6 shots in the first half with 3 on target while Enyimba had 3 shots on target.
Abdelilah Hafidi gave Raja Casablanca the lead shortly to the start of the second half in the 48th minute as they grabbed a vital away goal.
Nigeria’s most successful club were given a lifeline following a ball handling in the box. Stanley Dimgba had the chance to salvage a point for the home side from the penalty spot but missed, sending the keeper and ball the wrong ways in the 66th minute.
Enyimba who have now has lost their first game at home since their return to the renovated Aba Stadium will now to dig out a victory when they travel to Morocco for the second leg on October 24th.
