Ghanaian golfer, Vincent Torgah has notched his second victory of the season to win the 1st October championship West Africa Gold Tour at the Port Harcourt Golf Club.
Torgah sat at the top of the leader board for all the event and armed with a four-shot lead after 54 holes.
He shot his lowest round score 1-over par 71 in the finale while the closest challenger, Sunday Olapade nearly dislodged him off the table after playing the best round of the day 2-under 68, closing down Torgah’s lead to one shot.
Andrew Odoh carded 3-over 73 to finish in third position followed by Gift Willy
This is Torgah’s second victory of the year. With this win Torgah maintains himself at the top of the Order of Merit of the West Africa Golf Tour, followed by Sunday Olapade, and takes home $4.000.
The first edition of this golf tournament teed off on 28th September and ended yesterday in celebration of the country’s 58th independence day celebrations.
Meanwhile, Nigeria @58 tees off this Thursday at Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate in Lagos, Nigeria.
This affords West Africa Golf Tour players to take advantage of the championship course and improve their positions on the Order of Merit.
