Spanish champions Barcelona came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad in Saturday afternoon’s entertaining La Liga clash at the Anoeta.
Aritz Elustondo sent Sociedad ahead in the 12th minute, but Luis Suarez levelled the scores just past the hour before Ousmane Dembele completed the turnaround in the 66th minute.
The Catalan giants have now won all four of their league matches at the start of the 2018-19 campaign, but they had to ride their luck in the second period as Sociedad threatened a second on a number of occasions.
The hosts, playing at their newly renovated Anoeta stadium for the first time, could have grabbed a point late on but Juanmi headed narrowly wide from inside the area.
Barcelona were poor in the first half and also capitalised on goalkeeping errors for both goals with Geronimo Rulli missing punches at both set pieces.
The win for Ernesto Valverde’s side is their fourth from four games this season and keeps them top of the table.
Earlier in the day, Atletico Madrid needed an injury-time debut goal from Borja Garces to draw 1-1 with Eibar.
