Following the fallout from the controversial transfer of Malcom to Barcelona, Roma president, James Pellotta has joked that he will not accept any apologies from the Catalan club, unless they sell Lionel Messi to the Italian club.
“Barcelone intevened unethically. In the morning, Mochi had a video conference with the agent, the deal was donem” Pallotta explained to ‘Sirius XM’.
“Yesterday, Barcelona apologised for Malcom, but I will not accept this apology unless they sell us Messi,” he added.
“The player wanted to join us, he had only had formal talks with Everton and Leicester. We had already agreed a release clause of €120million with him.”
He then went on to talk about the agent: “Sometimes it’s just one idiot.”
On Barcelona, he made his feelings clear: “All clubs know how these things work. Forget the legality, it’s the ethics.
“[Relations between the clubs] are not closed, they are bigger than us. We will have other deals with them.”
