Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani is reportedly open to joining Real Madrid in this summer’s transfer window.
Los Blancos are yet to secure a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, although Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has been strongly linked with a move to the European champions.
The French champions are believed to be desperate to keep hold of the forward, but according to AS, the Uruguay international is open to the idea of joining Madrid in this summer’s transfer window.
Neymar is reportedly unhappy at playing alongside the 31-year-old, which could convince PSG to cash in on their all-time record goalscorer at 170 goals in his five seasons since joining from Napoli for €64m.
The report claims Cavani’s salary will be €12m plus €2m (£12.4m total) net.
Cavani struck 40 goals in all competitions last term in just 47 and has proven himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers over eight seasons – scoring 25 goals at least in each campaign with Napoli and PSG.
His arrival would ease the pressure on Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to step up to cover Ronaldo’s goals, with Madrid forced to replace the 44 goals their former talisman contributed last term
The 31-year-old has also been linked with a move to Chelsea ahead of the 2018-19 season
