2022 National Sports Festival’s logo, mascot to be unveiled

The Local Organising Committee for the 2022 National Sports Festival has announced that the logo and mascot for the 21st National Sports Festival, NSF, slated to begin in November this year, would be unveiled on Thursday, June 30th, 2022.

Speaking to journalists, Secretary of the LOC, Sir, Chris Anaziah, said the logo and mascot would be unveiled in Asaba at the Government House Unity Hall at 11 a.m., with his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State and the People’s Democratic Party’s Vice-Presidential candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as the chief host.

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare will be absent as he is part of the nine-man Nigerian team on a four-day state visit led by President Muhammadu Buhari to Portugal at the invitation of President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The LOC had earlier though its Chairman and Secretary to the Delta State Government, (SSG) Chief Patrick Ukah, reiterated Delta’s commitment to the hosting of the 21st National Sports Festival as the best of the festival since its inception.

He had said that the Asaba 2022 National Sports Festival would be the best of its kind, ranking second only to the 1973 games.

He stated that Delta, a significant sporting state in the nation, is dedicated to offering the best facilities for all of the nation’s residents, not only Deltans.

The “National Olympics” will be held in Delta for the first time in 2022, at the home of the reigning champions, Delta State.
