2022 budget: NFF budgets N1.25bn

… propose N641m, N30m for sporting activities, purchase of fixed assets

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has proposed to spend a total of N1,256,758,296 in the 2022 fiscal year.

This was contained in the budget estimates submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly last week Thursday.

The NFF budget is part of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development total budget of N193,315,083,317.

In the budget proposal for the NFF, the total personnel cost is N125m while N905.6m has been earmarked as the overhead cost. N1.031bn is expected to be spent on recurrent costs while N225.2m will be spent on capital projects.

According to the budget estimates, N641m has been budgeted for sporting activities while N130m has been budgeted for the purchase of fixed assets which includes N65m for purchase of pick-up vans for out of station projects monitoring, N40m for the purchase of buses for national team training while in camp, N10m for the purchase of medical equipment for national teams during matches/tournaments and N15m for purchase of sporting equipment for national teams for qualifier matches and tournaments.

N65m is expected to be spent on the construction of pavilion and spectators sitting area at the NFF/FIFA goal project at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja according to Daily Trust

The construction of Ebonyi State football association house is expected to gulp N20m while N10.2 could be spent on monitoring and evaluation of projects in and out of station.  

Also, N2.5m has been earmarked for publicity and advertisement while welfare packages will gulp N35m.

However, N3m has been budgeted for medical expenses, N3m for refreshment and meals, N8.2m for honorarium and sitting allowance.

Subscription to professional bodies is expected to cost N3,5m while N9.2m will be spent on vehicle and generator fuel.
