A major tragedy was averted as players and officials of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, MFM FC, narrowly escaped death following an auto crash on Sunday.
The team, known as Olukoya Boys were heading back to Lagos after a league game away to Plateau United in Jos which they lost 1-0 on Saturday.
According to a source in the team, the accident occurred at about 4.40pm along Akungba, Owo Road in Ondo State due to a brake failure.
No lives were lost and no major injury sustained by any of the players and officials of the team.
The coach of the team, Fidelis Ilechukwu, is also fine contrary to reports that he is in a critical condition.
