Zinedine Zidane’s time as Real Madrid manager may be over according to media reports following not-to-impressive results.
It has been reported that Florentino Perez wants Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as a replacement for legendary Zidane next season
Real Madrid has been off the standard this season in terms of match performance that has seen the team dropped to fourth place in La Liga and eight points behind rivals Barcelona and in Europe they were knocked off as the Group leader by Tottenham Hotspur with a 3-1 defeat in Wembley.
Real Madrid bounced back in recent games with a win over APOEL in the Champions League and Malaga, despite that the President retains doubts about Zidane’s tactical know-how as reported by Spanish news outlet Don Balon.
As such, Perez is seeking a tactical expert as Real Madrid next coach and while Germany manager Joachim Low has been mentioned, it’s emerged the feelers have also been sent out to Antonio Conte.
Conte is under pressure at the Stamford Bridge, with his future in doubt as he is linked with a return to Italy.
The former Juventus coach is now Perez’s main choice to succeed Zidane in the event the French man finish the season trophyless.
Zidane and Conte were former teammates, having played together in Italy for Juventus.
