Barcelona striker Luis Suarez ended his drought with two goals as his side beat Leganes 3-0 to remain top of La Liga.
The ex-Liverpool forward, 30, gave Barcelona an early lead when he ended his goalless streak – which had run to 479 minutes – in all competitions.
A late goal from Paulinho, with an assist by Lionel Messi, ensured their unbeaten run extended to 12 games.
The win took them seven points clear of Valencia and 11 clear of Real Madrid, who played a goalless draw against city rivals, Atletico Madrid.
Ernesto Valverde’s side went into the game having made the best start in the history of La Liga, and they now have 34 points from their first 12 games.
With Leganes keeper Ivan Cuellar confused by the trajectory of Paco Alcacer’s pass, Suarez scored from close range, and then he doubled Barca’s lead on the hour mark with a deflected goal.
However Gerard Pique will miss next weekend’s game against Valencia, as the central defender was given a yellow card for wrapping his arms around Nordin Amrabat, the striker on loan from Watford.
