Aiteo Group, a Nigeria-based energy conglomerate, has sealed a deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sponsor the Federation Cup for the next five years.
The company, in their official twitter handle on Wednesday, revealed that it has entered into agreement with the Glass House to foot the hitherto non-sponsored Federation Cup.
The tweet read: “Aiteo are now officially sponsoring the @thenff Nigeria FA Cup as #Aiteo Cup for the next 5 years…”
Meanwhile, as rightly pointed out in their tweet, the Nigeria’s version of the English FA Cup will now be called Aiteo Cup, starting from this year till the next five years.
Speaking on the deal, Francis Peters, deputy managing director of Aiteo, said that their involvement in Nigerian football is for the sake of the country.
“We actually have things to do with this money like give our Shareholders but we are doing this for Nigeria.”
