12 Strong FC crowned MerryBet5Stars Premier League champions

After an eight-week battle in Abuja, 12 Strong FC has been crowned the MerryBet5Stars Premier League champions.

The team defeated Mess Up FC 3-2 at the AstroTurf over the weekend, removing the reigning champion Suicide Jubril from the throne.

Once they have won, 12 Strong will represent the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the national final, where they will compete against the losers from Lagos on October 1 in Ibadan.

The regional 2022 MerryBet5Stars Premier League competition in Abuja featured 16 clubs, including Suicide Jubril, the reigning winners.

Meanwhile, all eyes are now focused on Lagos in the very first ever edition in the state on August 13th at Meadow Hall Lekki Phase 1 to determine the Southern region representatives.

A press conference will be held on the 6th of August by 2pm at Four-points by Sheraton Hotel with expected panelists and guests like The first Vice-President of the NFF and Lagos State FA Chairman Mr. Seyi Akinwummi, Mr. Oluwatoyin Gafar DG Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye SSA on Sports to The Governor Lagos State, Mr. Shola Ogunowo The Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One, Mrs Erika Mitchell and Mr Nicholas of American sports company Sports Unlimited in Atlanta, Mr Moses Praiz and Mr Ralphael George of SuperSporttv and other keynote speakers.

Following an agreement between 5Stars Football & Consultancy in partnership with Merrybet Sports and the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports led by The Commissioner Hon. Seun Fakorede, the National Final will give neutrality for a location for the final, an avenue to promote Futsal football growth, as well as exploring the idea of having a league in the state in the near future.
